Lincoln once said that it is “the life in your years” that counts, and it is a lesson DJ Hampton has come to live by.
After graduating from Alfred University in 2002 with his masters in non-profit administration, DJ traveled the US consulting with university Greek systems and served as a United Way of America Community Fellow assigned to Birmingham in 2004. From 2005 to April, 2009 he led the planned giving program at United Way of Central Alabama as Vice President, Gift Planning growing the program into one of the most successful in the network. He joined United Way Worldwide’s staff in 2009 and served as Director, Major, Principal and Planned Giving. There he led a team focused on individual giving ($1.2 Billion in annual support), and launching $1 Billion in initiative and endowment campaigns across the worldwide United Way system.
After United Way, DJ joined the ALS Association as the Sr. Vice President, Development. He led The Association’s national development team focused on doubling network-wide resources over 5 years.
Today, DJ serves as the SVP Market Leadership and Chief Development Officer of March of Dimes responsible for growing $160 million in revenue and managing field operations to help more moms be healthy and babies be born strong.
In May, 2015 DJ graduated with his JD from the evening program David A Clark School of Law at the University of the District of Columbia, and successfully passed the Bar Exam.
